The AIAC web site

The AIAC web site has become an important part of the services which the Association offers its members and the entire scientific community. It is particularly closely related to the international archaeological community in the city of Rome, with the Agenda archeologica with all the conferences and lectures on archaeology in Rome, the Agenda culturale with other conferences and lectures, produced in collaboration with the Unione degli istituti di archeologia, storia e storia dell’arte in Roma, and with links to and information about the foreign archaeological institutes in Rome. It also contains information about future conferences in the whole world, and about offers and discounts on books for AIAC members. Frequent questions about how to join the AIAC and the advantages of doing so are best answered by the section “Soci”.

Most pages on the site are in Italian, which is usually understood by Classical archaeologists. Probably it would be a good idea for the future to make the site more useful for only English-speaking visitors as well.

In the years 2003 and 2004, the newsletter AIACNews could not be printed on paper for economic reasons, and the result was that AIACNews went on-line on our web site. This on-line version of AIACNews will continue and will longer versions of some articles.

From the site there is of course also a link to the separate web site of Fasti on-line, which was described extensively by Helga Di Giuseppe in the last number of AIACNews.

The web site is updated four days a week by our webmaster Eleonora Moro in close collaboration with me. Any information for the site, or comments on how it could become more useful, can be sent to info@aiac.org.
