Inspired by the figure of two-faced Janus, symbol of the American Academy in Rome and of the relationship between past and future, the exhibition reflects upon the different aspects of the double image. The juxtaposition of works by eleven artists explores the sometimes contradictory figure of Janus and helps us question the meaning and value around the construction of the double image. Residents of the American Academy in Rome will join the exhibition with the second opening on 12 February. The exhibition is curated by Francesco Stocchi.
